The Fielder Dress, Merchant & Mills Sewing Pattern UK 20-28

The Fielder is a relaxed, easy-to-wear style inspired by the classic sweatshirt, with the option to make it as a top or dress. It features a ribbed neckline, three-quarter length raglan sleeves and ribbed cuffs, with a ribbed hem on the top version.

The dress has practical inseam side pockets, and the pattern also includes a short-sleeved crew neck top for an even simpler everyday option.

All seam allowances are 1cm unless otherwise stated.

Suggested Fabrics:

185gsm linen, linen/wool blends, yarn-dyed linen, Tencel/linen, soft cotton, needlecord, hemp/cotton blends, jacquard cotton, 5oz denim, lightweight flannel or crepe.

You will also need:

• Matching thread.
• 20–30cm of stay tape, approximately 5mm wide.
• Ribbing for the neck, cuffs and hem as required.
• Optional lining fabric for the dress pocket bags – these can also be cut from your main fabric.

Ribbing Requirements:

Merchant & Mills ribs are supplied in pre-cut lengths, so the number required depends on the version you are making.
